Elon Musk’s X Money App Nears Public Launch, No Sign of Dogecoin

Elon Musk’s long-awaited financial ‘everything app’, X Money, will become publicly available early in April, according to the billionaire entrepreneur.

The payments app, which has recently been teased on social media by early beta testers, will allow users to set up direct deposits, earn yields, and make payments directly in the app, which is similar to the capabilities of other financial platforms like Venmo or Cash App.

“X Money early public access will launch next month,” Musk said posted to X on Tuesday morning.

The platform’s early capabilities and interface were also promoted by “Star Trek” actor William Shatner, who did the same invited by Musk to use the platform and auctions off beta access to support a good cause.

For one Donation of $1,000 to Shatner’s Hollywood Charity Horse Showwhich supports children’s charities, individuals can get early beta access to the platform and start taking advantage of its features.

Although users start using the platform by making coffee purchases and transferring money, there is still no clear crypto connection – even for Musk’s ‘favorite cryptocurrency’ the leading meme coin, Dogecoin (DOGE).

A crypto drawdown for X Money has long been rumored Musk’s long history of DOGE cheerleadingbut the company hasn’t shared any hard details yet that indicate crypto functionality. Still, DOGE is up more than 8% in the past day, possibly benefiting from speculation surrounding its upcoming app launch.

However, the X has recently become an owner reposted a third-party prediction from the app future features including loans, money market accounts and ‘crypto integration’.

Years in the making, X Money has unveiled Visa as a partner for a secure and instant account financing in January 2025. In addition, the company, through its subsidiary X Payments, has managed to acquire more than 40 money transmission licenses in US states to strengthen and secure its financial capabilities.
