Kiyosaki Warns Millions of Boomers Could Be Homeless, Says Buy Bitcoin

“Hope I am wrong, but I do not think I am.”

“My predictions, starting with the crash of Lehman Brothers on CNN, on Wolf Blitzer’s Situation Room show in 2008, has been on time and target,” he further said.

Kiyosaki’s claim that his predictions have been “on time and target” overlooks repeated missed deadlines. His own Rich Dad website acknowledges that his forecast of the biggest crash in 2016 missed its timing. In January 2025, he predicted the biggest stock market crash in history would arrive that February. The S&P 500 fell 1.42% that month and finished 2025 up 16.39%.

The warning extends a claim Kiyosaki made in May, when he predicted millions of boomers could face financial trouble and homelessness in 2026. His latest message puts more emphasis on the stock-and-bond mix and the limited time older investors may have to recover from losses.

What His Retirement and Gold Claims Show

Kiyosaki traced the problem to what he described as inadequate financial education when retirement plans changed. He equated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 with the 401(k), but the dates differ: ERISA was enacted in 1974, while 401(k) plans were authorized under a 1978 amendment to the tax code and expanded after subsequent IRS guidance.

His post also claimed central banks are selling U.S. bonds to buy gold. A June World Gold Council survey found that 89% of responding reserve managers expected global central bank gold holdings to rise over the following year. That finding supports continued interest in gold, but it does not demonstrate the worldwide bond sales or stock market crash Kiyosaki predicts.

His concern about traditional financial assets predates this post. In July, Kiyosaki singled out U.S. bonds, some stocks, and retirement accounts as vulnerable in a future downturn. The new warning narrows the human consequence: retirees who depend on their savings may have fewer working years available to offset major losses.

Why Kiyosaki Keeps Pointing to Bitcoin

Kiyosaki presented BTC alongside gold and silver as assets he has recommended for years. He wrote:

“That is why I have ended my X’s with ‘Buy gold, silver, and bitcoin’ for years.”

He said earlier in September that a historic crash had begun, citing debt, war, artificial intelligence speculation, and retiring baby boomers.

Bitcoin’s fixed supply underpins its appeal to investors concerned about monetary instability, while its price can also fall sharply over short periods. Those store-of-value characteristics and risks make it distinct from both gold and the bonds Kiyosaki criticized. His recommendation reflects his view of the coming downturn, rather than evidence that bitcoin would retain its value during one.

Kiyosaki also listed rental apartments and U.S. oil wells among his holdings. He closed the post by urging people to read, learn, and teach others. “Rough times ahead for the unprepared and great times for those that are,” he wrote.
