Trump Admin Launches Pentagon UFO Website With Declassified Files

The Donald Trump administration launched a new administration on Friday website dedicated to unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAPs, releasing what officials describe as the first wave of declassified files related to decades of UFO investigations.

The new portal contains videos, photos and government documents that were previously distributed across agencies or government classifications.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the edition marks the formal debut of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, or PURSUE, a collaboration between the White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Energy, NASA, the FBI and the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, known as AARO.

“As part of my commitment to the American people, the War Department has released the first tranche of UFO and UAP files for public review and study,” Trump said. wrote about Truth Social. “In the interest of full and maximum transparency, I have directed my administration to identify and declassify government records relating to extraterrestrial and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, and unidentified flying objects.”

The launch follows months of moves by the Trump administration around UAP disclosure. In March, the White House registered the domain aliens.gov, fueling speculation that a broader federal UFO archive would be created.

The existence of UAPs, the government’s preferred term for UFOs, has entered mainstream political and national security debates in recent years as congressional hearings, military investigations and testimony from former officials have increased pressure for greater transparency.

Public interest increased in 2024 after a wave of drone sightings in the US and Pentagon-confirmed videos showing unexplained aerial objects performing unusual maneuvers.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the release of the new website is part of the government’s broader push to increase public access to government UAP data.

“The War Department is working with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency to our government’s understanding of unidentified anomalous phenomena,” Hegseth said in a statement. “These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled legitimate speculation – and it’s time the American people face it for themselves. This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s sincere commitment to unprecedented transparency.”

While praising the website’s launch, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said the agency would “monitor the data” and “remain candid” about what remains unexplained.

“At NASA, our job is to use the brightest minds and the most advanced scientific instruments, track the data and share what we learn,” Isaacman said in a statement. “We will remain candid about what we know to be true, what we have yet to understand, and all that remains to be discovered. Exploration and the pursuit of knowledge are at the core of NASA’s mission as we seek to unlock the secrets of the universe.”
