White House Crypto Council Executive Director Bo Hines is leaving his position to return to the private sector.
Hines, who served as a partner at a growth equity firm before joining the Trump administration, will continue in his role on a limited basis as a special government employee to work with White House adviser David Sacks on artificial intelligence initiatives.
Hines is expected to be succeeded by Patrick Witt, the council’s current vice chair. Witt served as Deputy Director General of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in the first Trump administration. Witt, who ran for the House of Representatives in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District in 2021, received a donation from Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel but later withdrew from the race to run for Georgia State Insurance Commissioner. He lost in the Republican primary.
