Curve is a decentralized exchange designed for efficient stablecoin trading. DefiLlama measures its volume by counting one side of each swap and excluding deposits and withdrawals, so the increase represents trading turnover rather than new money deposited into the protocol.
The $847.4 million total compares with $97.7 million on Oct. 28. The seven-day median uses the seven complete UTC days from Oct. 22 through Oct. 28.
Curve’s own chain-level trading dataset separately reports $842.9 million for Oct. 29, including $838.9 million on Ethereum. That closely corroborates the scale of the jump, although it is not wholly independent: DefiLlama’s adapter draws on Curve’s API for supported chains.
The 3pool imbalance also preceded the surge. A snapshot just before the UTC day began showed approximately 107.8 million $USDT, 27.6 million $USDC and 24.5 million $DAI. Near the day’s close, it held 121.2 million $USDT, 20.1 million $USDC and 20.6 million $DAI.
