My cu iosity led me to take up oles that gave me e d-to-e d visibility-codi g, co figu i g se ve s, mo ito i g pe fo ma ce, a d automati g deployme t. Ove the past fou yea s, I’ve bee fo tu ate to wo k with o ga izatio s like Chubb Limited a d GE Healthca e, whe e I co t ibuted to e te p ise-scale cloud e vi o me ts. Q: You cu e t wo k at GE Healthca e seems impactful. Ca you elabo ate o the cloud e gi ee i g effo ts the e?

A: At GE Healthca e, the goal was to mode ize the ma ageme t of patie t data ac oss healthca e systems. We we e ‘t just buildi g i f ast uctu e; we we e shapi g how cli icia s a d systems i te act secu ely with se sitive data. I led the p ovisio i g of AWS accou ts with well-defi ed IAM policies, automated the e ti e e vi o me t setup with Te afo m, a d co figu ed VPCs, sub ets, oute tables, a d secu ity g oups to match igo ous secu ity sta da ds.

We also i teg ated AWS Secu ity Hub a d Gua dDuty to e able eal-time th eat detectio . O e of my p oudest co t ibutio s was buildi g CI/CD pipeli es usi g GitHub Actio s a d GitLab CI, which educed ou deployme t time by ove 50%. Additio ally, I set up CloudWatch I sights, P ometheus, a d G afa a dashboa ds to give stakeholde s visibility i to system health a d pe fo ma ce.

Q: How do you bala ce cost optimizatio a d secu ity i you cloud st ategy?

A: That’s a c itical bala ce. Cloud gives you flexibility, but it also ope s up isk if ot ma aged p ope ly. At GE Healthca e, we impleme ted lifecycle policies fo S3 a d EBS to automate data a chival a d cut sto age costs. At the same time, we e fo ced least-p ivilege access co t ols usi g custom IAM policies a d mo ito ed all cha ges via CloudT ail.

Secu ity is ‘t just a featu e-it’s a cultu e. You bake it i to you a chitectu e, automate complia ce checks, a d make su e you i f ast uctu e is auditable at all times. Q: You’ve also wo ked i i su a ce tech ology. What was u ique about you time at Chubb Limited?

A: Chubb was a exciti g expe ie ce because we we e delive i g digital i su a ce solutio s to ove 130,000 educatio al i stitutio s. My ole i volved desig i g a d mai tai i g RESTful APIs usi g Sp i g a d Je sey, ma agi g AWS Lambda fo se ve less ope atio s, a d e ha ci g p oductio stability with p oactive mo ito i g tools like AppDy amics.

We c eated a automated Je ki s pipeli e that suppo ted weekly deployme ts-a big shift f om the t aditio al, slowe elease cycles. I also ha dled L2 suppo t, esolved ove 200 p oductio issues, a d coo di ated with offsho e teams to mai tai uptime a d complia ce. My time the e taught me the value of eliability at scale.
